Your wedding invitation is your guests’ first peek into your special day, so it is important that it stands out. Check out our checklist for a great invitation right here!

Theme
The invitation hints at the style of your wedding so once you decide the theme of your wedding, you can style your invitation too around the same theme

Colors
While gold, cream or white card stock paired with a black or gold font is the classic choice for formal wedding invitations, you can also brighten your invites with colorful or metallic fonts, paper stock, envelopes and liners. Choose your colors while keeping readability in mind.

Shape and size
Going by the standard sizes is fine but sometimes it is okay to experiment a little with the numerous options available – like circle and scalloped invites! Play around to see what fits the audience best.

Text
Rule of thumb is to avoid light and dark inks on light and dark backgrounds respectively. Also when it comes to fonts, pretty letters are fine but make sure the style matches the invitation style and is easy on the eyes as well.

Spacing
Avoid overcrowding your invite by making sure only the key details are included – like ceremony time and location, the hosts, your and your partner’s names, and RSVP information (optional). Trying to squeeze too much onto the invitation card can make it harder to read and it won’t look as elegant.

Proof-read, again!
Checking your invite for spelling errors may seem like such a trivial thing to do – but you’d be surprised at what might be missed. Check the venue, date, time and names and also the other text so that you accidentally don’t say “Expecting your presents”!!
